How to Declutter Your Mind Now!

We often can’t think straight because we have so many things on our mind. Our jobs, personal life, other people’s lives, it all can create a mind of chaos. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are practical things that we can do to help release the clutter in our minds so that we can begin to feel balanced again. Let's take a look at a few.

1. Journal daily. I love journaling because it allows you to release what is in your head and see it for what it is. When you continue to store so much information your brain will feel overloaded. Had a bad day? Journal it out. You can then reflect on the events and see it for what it really is. And now your brain has time to restore and recover. Had a great day? It's fun to go back and see your reaction to what happened. Journal so you can get it out.

2. Clear out your space. Your space is a reflection of what is going on in your mind. If your things are all over the place it is likely that so is your mind. Having a clean and clutter free space will help you to think more clearly and lighten the load in your brain. Begin with your bedroom because that is where restoration happens. Move next to your workspace since it is likely where you spend a lot of time. You'll be amazed at how good you will feel after decluttering these spaces.

3. Go for a walk. This is great for your body as well as your mind. If you can, do it outside. Notice the environment around you. It will give you a fresh and intentional outlook and help you to clear your mind. A bonus would be to take a trusted friend, spouse, or partner along to chat. This will give you a better perspective and enjoy the company of someone you care about.

4. Meditate. We often neglect this quiet time, but it is the perfect time to release tension and clutter. Doing just 2 minutes of meditation will help you to release the clutter in your mind. You can even combine it with journaling to pack a bigger punch. Make time at the end of each day to meditate and let out the effects of the day.
